INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups of wheat flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Oil for frying
For the cover:
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Lemon zest (optional)
LEMON MOISTURE
- In a large bowl, first mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Then, in another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, lemon juice and lemon zest until smooth.
- Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a uniform dough forms.
- Roll out the dough about 1.5 cm thick on a floured surface.
- Use a doughnut cutter to cut the dough into doughnut shapes.
- Heat the oil in a deep pan until it reaches 170°C.
- Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Remove the doughnuts from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain off the excess oil.
