INGREDIENTS

  • 350g penne
  • 2 cups broccoli cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

The preparation method for this recipe is very simple and I'm sure that if you follow it step by step you will be able to make your recipe, it will be wonderful.

PREPARATION METHOD

  1. Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once it's boiling, add the penne and cook according to the instructions on the package until it's al dente. This should take about 10-12 minutes. When it's ready, drain and set aside.
  2. While the penne is cooking, prepare the broccoli. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  3. Add the broccoli pieces to the pan with the garlic and sauté for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is slightly soft and starting to brown on the edges.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the cream into the pan with the broccoli. Stir well to incorporate the cream and heat through.
  5. Then add the grated Parmesan cheese to the broccoli and cream mixture. Keep stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy touch.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the cheese is already salty, so be careful not to add too much salt.
  7. Add the cooked penne to the broccoli and cheese sauce, stirring gently to coat the pasta with the creamy sauce.
  8. Serve the Quick Penne with Cheese and Broccoli on individual plates, sprinkled with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of freshness.
