INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 2 cups natural yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill (or mint, if you prefer)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

The preparation method for this recipe is very simple and I'm sure that if you follow it step by step you will be able to make your recipe, it will be wonderful.

PREPARATION METHOD

  1. First, start by grating the medium cucumber. After grating, place it in a sieve and press lightly with your hands to remove excess liquid. Let the cucumber drain in the sieve for about 15 minutes.
  2. Then, in a medium bowl, mix together the natural yogurt, chopped garlic cloves, olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Use a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients until they are well incorporated.
  3. Then, once the cucumber has drained, add it to the yogurt mixture. Stir gently to distribute the cucumber evenly in the sauce.
  4. Then add chopped fresh dill (or mint, if you prefer) to the mixture. These spices add a fresh, aromatic flavor to the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least an hour. This will allow the flavors to combine and the sauce to become even more delicious.
  6. Take the Tzatziki out of the fridge and give it a final stir before serving. Serve as an accompaniment to main dishes such as grilled meat, fish or as a dip for fresh vegetables.
  7. Finally, if you like, drizzle a little extra olive oil over the Greek Yogurt Sauce before serving for an extra touch of flavor.
