INGREDIENTS

  • 4-5 medium-sized cucumbers, cut into slices or sticks
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, peeled and lightly crushed
  • 1 handful of fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds (optional, for an extra touch)

PREPARATION METHOD

  1. Wash the cucumbers well and cut them into thin slices or sticks, depending on your preference.
  2. Heat the vinegar, water, salt and sugar in a saucepan. Stir until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved.
  3. Add the crushed garlic cloves and mustard seeds, if using.
  4. Bring the vinegar and water mixture to the boil for a few minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  5. Place a few slices of cucumber and sprigs of fresh dill in clean canning jars.
  6. Pour the cooled vinegar mixture over the cucumbers in the jars, making sure they are completely submerged.
  7. Close the jars tightly and put them in the fridge.
  8. Finally, let the pickled cucumbers rest in the fridge for at least 24 hours before eating.
