How to make fried fish

Clean the fish and cut it into slices, then season the fish with the lemon, salt and pepper. Then, in a bowl, add the flour, cornmeal and cornstarch and mix. Bread the fish in this mixture and then fry it in hot oil. Fry until golden brown and then turn the fish over to fry the other side. Place the fish on a paper towel to drain off the excess oil and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 kg of fish (suggestions: traíra, mackerel, hake, dogfish, tilapia, hake or the fish of your choice)
  • 3 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • One cup cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • juice of 1 lemon
  •  black pepper (or white pepper) to taste
  • salt to taste

  5. TIP: Let the oil get very hot and don't stir while frying to avoid the risk of it sticking to the pan.
