INGREDIENTS

  • 500g wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dry biological yeast
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 300g ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 chopped seedless tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley and chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon

PREPARATION METHOD

  1. First, combine the flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Mix well using a spoon.
  2. Then, in another small bowl, add the dry yeast to the lukewarm water and leave to stand for a few minutes until it begins to foam.
  3. Then make a hole in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the oil and activated yeast mixture. Mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
  4. Then transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Leave it to rest covered with a cloth in a warm place for about an hour, until it has doubled in size.
  5. So, while the dough is resting, prepare the filling. In a frying pan, sauté the onion until golden. Add the minced beef and cook until browned. Add the tomatoes, parsley, spring onions, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes and set aside.
  6. Once the dough has doubled in size, divide it into small portions and roll each one out into a circle. Place a portion of the filling in the center of each circle of dough, leaving the edges free.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Arrange the spheres on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Finally, remove the spheres from the oven and serve warm or at room temperature. They are delicious with curd or a sauce of your choice.
