Ceará Court Rejects Cancellation of Safadão and Father Fábio de Melo Shows in Crateús

In a recent decision, the Ceará courts denied a request from the Ceará Public Prosecutor's Office (MPCE) to partially cancel the "Crateús 192 years" event, which includes concerts by Wesley Safadão and Father Fábio de Melo. The MPCE argued that public spending on the festival was disproportionate to the municipality's financial situation.

According to the MPCE, the party, which includes performances by other artists such as Anderson Freire, Gil Mendes, Jonatha & Christiano, Forró Real and the band É o Tchan, will cost R$ 1.4 million. É o Tchan is the only band that has already been paid by the City Hall.

The court ruled that canceling the concerts would cause more expenses and concluded that there were no defects in the direct hiring of the artists, as well as considering the apparent balance of public accounts and the municipality's financial capacity. In response, the MPCE appealed the decision, asking the Ceará State Court of Justice (TJCE) to partially suspend the event.

The "Crateús 192 years" event will take place between Wednesday (3) and Saturday (6), and the program has been widely publicized on the City Hall's social networks. Wesley Safadão has already recorded a video inviting the public to his performance on the last day of the festivities.
