SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN
INGREDIENTS
- 500g chicken breast, cut into strips
- 1 red bell bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 yellow bell bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
- Toasted sesame for sprinkling (optional)
- Chopped green onion for garnish
PREPARATION METHOD
- In a large frying pan or wok, first heat the oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary. Sauté the onion, garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Then add the peppers and continue cooking until they are slightly soft, while retaining some crunch.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey and tomato sauce. Pour the mixture over the vegetables in the pan.
