Frying pans are a popular kitchen utensil, but they can also be difficult to clean. The bottom (almost) always has residue that you can't get out. Fortunately, there are a few tricks that can help, says Food52.

In fact, the Portal explains that all the tips shared can be applied to all types of frying pans, whether stainless steel, non-stick or even copper.

4 tips on how to clean the bottom of a frying pan

Vsar ketchup

Due to its acidity, tomato paste is known for being able to restore the original shine of copper and silver.

So if your pans need cleaning or polishing, using tomato paste is a great trick. However, this won't remove very strong stains, but it will make the pan shinier, warns Food52.

Then, according to the magazine, simply apply ketchup to the affected area, leave it on for around 10 to 20 minutes and wipe it off with a cloth or sponge.

Apply baking soda paste

Melissa Maker, author of the blog Clean My Space, says that a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water is all you really need to clean the bottom of a frying pan.

All you have to do is apply the paste, leave it on for 10 to 20 minutes and then wipe it off with a non-stick sponge.

Use the dryer sheets

It's most commonly used for laundry, but according to the portal, it's also great for cleaning frying pans. Fill the sink with lukewarm water up to the bottom of the pan and then place a dryer sheet on top to get everything wet.

Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes or, if the damage is serious, you can leave it on overnight. In principle, you can easily scrub the burnt and dirty parts of the pan with just a sponge and detergent, without too much effort.

Try cleaning with hydrogen peroxide

If you're cleaning the bottom of a small frying pan, place it in a large saucepan and fill it with hydrogen peroxide, enough to remove the stain. Put it on the stove and let it boil at full power for 10 minutes. The dirt should then come off easily. The portal warns that the idea doesn't smell good, so it's best to do it with the windows open.
